PLAY IT IN THE CALL

Back Table: truco and poker with friends, no real money

A card table inside the call, with Brazilian truco and Texas Hold'em poker. The chips are play money: each table starts with its own, nobody buys chips, and they're worth nothing outside the table.

For ages 18 and up.

How to play

  1. In a Mead Room, open Activities and choose Truco or Poker: both are played at the Back Table.
  2. Take a seat with one of the characters. Anyone past the game's number of seats watches and joins the next match.
  3. In truco, everyone gets three cards, and whoever wins two tricks takes the hand; call truco to raise what it's worth. In poker, you get two cards in your hand, five on the board and four betting rounds.

Details

Chips
Play money: everyone starts with 1,000 at each table, nobody buys chips, there's no ranking, and they vanish when the match ends.
Truco
Truco paulista, from Brazil: a 40-card deck, the manilha, truco, six, nine and twelve, the hand of eleven and the iron hand. With 4 or 6 players, the table's signals go only to your partners. One game to 12 points or best of three.
Poker
No-Limit Texas Hold'em, blinds at 10/20 and 30 seconds a move. In the house round, of 30, 45 or 60 minutes, whoever runs out takes 1,000 more, counted against them at the end; in the tournament, the blinds rise every 8 minutes until one player is left.
Sealed deck
Every poker hand comes from a deck shuffled on the server and sealed before the cards go out. At the end, your browser checks that the cards shown were there from the start.

Questions

Do you play for real money?

No. The chips are play money and exist only at that table: nobody buys them, they can't be exchanged for anything, there's no ranking, and they vanish when the match ends.

Which truco is it?

Truco paulista, from Brazil, where the manilha changes every hand (it's the card after the vira), for 2, 4 or 6 people. There's no envido or flor.

Do I need to download anything?

No. The game runs inside a Mead Room, in your browser. Everyone in the call sees the same match.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in your phone's browser. The call stays open, so you can talk while you play.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. The games come with every Room.
