Mead is a browser app where groups of friends talk over voice, camera and screen sharing, play games together and keep a place of their own: the Tavern.

What you can do
- Create a Tavern for your group and invite people over WhatsApp or any messaging app.
- Join a Room to talk by voice, turn on your camera or share your screen.
- Stay in the call while you move around the app.
- Play MeaDraw, The Impostor, Rune Word, Tankard Slam, Twisted Tale and Back Table inside the call.
- Watch the Tavern grow with the group's Nights: Hall, coat of arms, trophies and weekly contracts.
- See the Taverns that show themselves on the Meadland map. Joining one takes an invite.
Questions
Is Mead an alternative to Discord?
It covers some of what many groups use Discord for: voice chat, camera, screen sharing and a group chat. The difference is focus: Mead is made for groups of friends, with games inside the call and a Tavern that keeps your group's story, with no channels, bots or ads.
Who can use Mead?
Only people 18 and older. You enter your date of birth when you sign up, and Mead keeps only the confirmation.
What's the difference between a Tavern and a Room?
The Tavern is the group's place: members, chat, Hall and coat of arms. Rooms live inside it and are the spaces for voice, camera and screen. Opening the Tavern doesn't put anyone in a call; each person chooses when to join a Room.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Mead works in the browser, on computers and phones. There's a Windows app if you want to send your game's audio with your stream and use global shortcuts.
Does Mead record calls?
No. Mead doesn't record voice, video or screens.
How much does it cost?
Accounts, Taverns, calls and games are free. An optional plan, with extras for customization and streaming quality, is on the way and doesn't change XP, levels or Room limits.
